Visited Cartagena for 12 days. Solid experience. Scene is quieter but worthwhile. Pricing excellent value.
Spent $150/day. Best part: variety.
Overall: 9/10. One of my favourites.
AMA.

Interesting take but I think you overpaid. Try using a different site next time.

I was there in February and prices were slightly higher.
Spent about $140/day all-in. Quality was excellent.
My tip: midweek is golden hour.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

With respect, my experience was more mixed. But maybe I went at the wrong time.

Not sure I agree about that area. I found downtown to be better value.

I'd also recommend downloading Maps.me before you go. Essential.

What was your total spend roughly? Trying to budget for mine.
