Planning my first trip to Germany. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.
My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to Czech Republic?
5. Any apps to use before arriving?
Coming from the US with experience in Europe but first time in Germany.
Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

I was there in March and prices were great value. Spent about $50/day all-in.
My tip: try the local spots away from tourists.

Been there 8 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The value for money is what keeps me coming back.

I was there in February and prices were exactly as described. Spent about $120/day all-in.
My tip: go early evening.

First time was a learning experience. Second time was 10x smoother. Experience makes all the difference.
