Safety update for Panama based on recent experience and community reports:

General Safety Level: Low risk if you stick to known areas.

Common Risks:
- Street touts steering you to overpriced venues
- Phone snatching — keep it in your front pocket
- Romance scams — be skeptical of offers

Areas to Avoid:
Tourist areas are generally safe but stay alert.

Police Situation:
Corruption exists but tourists rarely targeted.

Stay safe out there.

I was there in last month and prices were slightly higher. Spent about $150/day all-in.

My tip: avoid weekends.
