Safety update for Trinidad & Tobago based on recent experience and community reports:

General Safety Level: Moderate — use common sense and you will be fine.

Common Risks:
- Petty theft in crowded areas — keep valuables secure
- Tourist pricing — negotiate or walk away
- Room theft — use hotel safe

Areas to Avoid:
Stay out of unlit side streets after midnight.

Police Situation:
Police are generally helpful to tourists.

Stay safe out there.

What was your total spend roughly? Trying to budget for mine.

I was there in March and prices were about average. Spent about $80/day all-in.

My tip: avoid weekends.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Quick question — how was the hotel security?

Been there 12 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The quality is what keeps me coming back.

Adding my experience: scene has stayed the same since pre-COVID. Biggest change: better quality.

Word of caution — do not carry too much cash. Other than that, great destination.
