Planning my first trip to Puerto Rico. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.

My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to Czech Republic?
5. Best time of day to go out?

Coming from Canada with experience in a few different countries but first time in Puerto Rico.

Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

This matches my experience. Puerto Rico is underrated.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Different experience for me. Prices were higher when I went.

I was there in January and prices were about average. Spent about $100/day all-in.

My tip: avoid weekends.

Been there 8 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The value for money is what keeps me coming back.

Adding my experience: scene has stayed the same since pre-COVID. Biggest change: more online activity.
