Planning my first trip to Puerto Rico. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.

My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to Thailand?
5. Uber or taxi?

Coming from the US with experience in a few different countries but first time in Puerto Rico.

Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

Spot on with the prices. Matches what I paid recently.

Been there 5 times now. Still one of my top destinations. The consistency is what keeps me coming back.

Word of caution — be careful with street touts. Other than that, great destination.

Also recommend downloading Google Translate before you go. Essential.

Good info. Going during the week is much better — less crowded and better prices.

What was your total spend roughly? Trying to budget for mine.

Word of caution — do not carry too much cash. Other than that, great destination.
