Planning my first trip to Jamaica. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.

My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to Colombia?
5. How is the language barrier?

Coming from the US with experience in a few different countries but first time in Jamaica.

Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

Adding my experience: scene has stayed the same since pre-COVID. Biggest change: some old spots closed.

Spot on with the prices. Matches what I paid recently.

I was there in February and prices were slightly higher. Spent about $50/day all-in.

My tip: try the local spots away from tourists.

Also recommend downloading Google Translate before you go. Essential.

Did you use an agency or find girls at the hotel?

First time was overwhelming but exciting. Second time was so much more efficient. Experience makes all the difference.
