Has anyone been to Egypt recently? Looking for the latest intel.

Specifically interested in:
- Current price ranges
- Best areas right now
- Any safety concerns to be aware of
- Best hotels near the scene

I was there in 2024 and had a decent time. Wondering if things have changed.

Trying to decide between this and Colombia.

Cheers

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Word of caution — be careful with street touts. Other than that, great destination.

This matches my experience. Egypt is one of my favorites.

Adding my experience: scene has evolved since pre-COVID. Biggest change: better quality.

I was there in January and prices were about average. Spent about $100/day all-in.

My tip: avoid weekends.

Also recommend downloading Grab before you go. Essential.
