Planning my first trip to Living in Thailand. Read through the older threads but wanted to check if info is still current.

My main questions:
1. Best area to stay for easy access to the scene?
2. Realistic daily budget including accommodation?
3. Any areas to avoid?
4. How is the quality compared to Germany?
5. Uber or taxi?

Coming from the UK with experience in Europe but first time in Living in Thailand.

Any recent reports or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

What was your total spend roughly? Trying to budget for mine.

Spot on with the prices. Matches what I paid recently.

Adding my experience: scene has bounced back since pre-COVID. Biggest change: more online activity.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

First time was overwhelming but exciting. Second time was much better. Experience makes all the difference.

Also recommend downloading Maps.me before you go. Essential.

Adding my experience: scene has stayed the same since pre-COVID. Biggest change: more online activity.

Been going for years. Scene has shifted a bit but still good.
