Quick question for the Vietnam regulars — has anything changed in the last few months?

I was there last year and had a great time but I've heard things are quieter than usual.

Worth going back or should I try somewhere new?

Cheers

Nice report. Heading there next month — exactly the intel I needed.

I'd also recommend downloading WhatsApp before you go. Essential.

This is outdated info IMO. Things have changed since the new laws came in. Current prices are about the same than what's described here.

How does it compare to the Philippines?

Hmm, I had a different experience. Prices were lower when I went. Maybe timing matters.

Not sure I agree about that area. I found downtown to be better value.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

Good info. I'd add that going during the week is much better — less crowded, better prices.
