Just returned from 7 days in Philippines. Great trip overall.
Stayed near the main area, hotel was about $46/night. Clean and close to everything.
The scene is decent. Prices ranged from very affordable compared to my last visit.
Girls were varied — some great, some average. I had 6 encounters over the trip.
Food was cheap and delicious. Street food was the highlight.
Will definitely be back. Happy to answer questions.

With respect, my experience was more mixed. But maybe I went at the wrong time.

Good info. I'd add that going during the week is much better — less crowded, better prices.

How long did it take to feel comfortable and find the good spots?

I was there in January and prices were slightly higher.
Spent about $123/day all-in. Quality was excellent.
My tip: go early evening for best selection.

Spot on with the prices. That matches what I paid in February.

Adding my experience from 3 weeks ago.
The scene has improved since pre-COVID. Biggest change: more online activity.

Hmm, I had a different experience. Prices were higher when I went. Maybe timing matters.
